Inspired by the pearl-like aspect of platinum pieces from the 1920s, golden beads became a motif in their own right as of 1948. Radiating a delicate glow, they instill joyful energy into Van Cleef & Arpels’ creations.
Inspired by a perfectly round setting, golden beads grew increasingly abundant as of 1948 to form the Couscous and Bagatelle pieces. These generous, playful creations combine gleaming yellow gold with colored precious stones or sparkling diamonds.
In 1963, the Maison blended golden beads with colorful gems, giving birth to the Twist creations. The orange-red hues of coral, deep azure tones of lapis lazuli and sky-blue shades of turquoise join cultured pearls and golden beads through refined twists. These precious orbs embrace the skin with their rippling, undulating movement.
Cheerfully versatile, golden beads instill a playful hint of liberty into Van Cleef & Arpels’ stylized animals. Endearing fawns, inseparable lovebirds or delicate butterflies come to life in this whimsical motif.
Encircling a colored stone with a gleaming profile, outlining the curvature of a ring or highlighting sparkling diamonds, golden beads give rise to the Perlée collection's radiant design in 2008.
