Since its founding in 1906, Van Cleef & Arpels has distinguished itself in the creation of precious objects that enchant and inspire wonder. The Naissance de l'Amour automaton continues the collection initiated by the Maison in 2022 with Rêveries de Berylline, later expanded with Éveil du Cyclamen and Bouton d’Or.

The Naissance de l'Amour automaton features Cupid in a composition that embodies the tenderness of emotions. Crafted in white, rose, and yellow gold with diamonds, it emerges from a feathered basket adorned with a delicate gradient achieved with lacquer.

Wax sculpting, when motifs take form

The figurine rises gracefully, spinning on itself, its plique-à-jour enamel wings beating for a few moments before returning to its hideaway. Its ascent is accompagnied by the melody of a carillon.

The base of the automaton is entirely carved in iron eye, a stone with delicate nuances and golden reflections. A petrified palmwood bowl - a gemstone rarely explored in the Maison’s creations - holds the feather basket.

These materials have been carefully selected by Van Cleef & Arpels’ experts, then cut and polished to reveal their character and uniqueness. A graduated rotating ring indicates the time thanks to two lacquered feathers adorned with diamonds, held in place by a bow entirely paved with diamonds.
